What a powerful and helpful book! I've gotten so frustrated in the past with books like this. Typically one of two things happen. Sometimes the author tells their story, but offers no hope or guidance to get past whatever issues they dealt with. It is like they wrote the book as part of their own therapy. The other thing I have seen is books like this being written solely from a clinical perspective, with guidance being given by someone who has never experienced what they are "teaching" others to overcome. Kelli breaks both of these barriers. Her story is heart wrenching, and she writes in a way that you are there with her in her journey through experience with grief after grief. But she doesn't leave you there!! The second half of her book is her step by step guide to how she got through grief and stopped letting it control her. It is a guide that if you are grieving and you follow, you, too, can be free from the bondage of grief. I wish I had this book when I had needed it many years ago. If you are stuck in a cycle of what seems to be never ending grief, I encourage you - GO GET THIS BOOK!
